QUICK START

Although you can view the entire list of tutorials the following quick start guide lists the most common path including the tutorials which are most useful to get you started:.

1. Sign into the hosting admin panel

Visit www.hostingcontroller.co.uk using the details supplied in the welcome message.

2. Add any additional features you need.

If you need any additional features these can be added now and as soon as payment is made they will be avalable.

3. Set up the domain/website.

4. Set up a test url.

This enables you to test the site before the live domain is set up or transfered.

5. Set up a publishing account.

This will either be FTP (recomended) or if you use Frontpage/Expression via Front Page extensions.

6. Set up any email accounts you need at the server end*.

Either now or when the live domain is transfered you will also need to set up your local account to collect the email. If you are doing this before the live domain is transfered you will need to use the mail servers pop3 IP address rather than 'mail.yourdomain.com'.


7. Publish your site and test it (using the test url)

You can find the settings on the detail page of the FTP/Frontpage account you set up in the panel.

How and where this is entered into your local publishing software will vary depending on the software you use so for support regarding this you should contact your software support department.

However we do have some tutorials for some of the more popular software packages.
